Spam e-mail basically falls into one of two categories

1. Mail that is readily identifiable as spam because it originates from a known spam source or is transmitted in a way that clearly identifies the sender as a spam source (approximately 80-90% of all spam falls into this category).

2. Mail that based on its content is most likely spam but might possibly be wanted e-mail (10-20% of all spam falls into this category).

SpamStop e-mail servers have two primary functions:

1. They eliminate the readily identifiable spam from the first category completely so that you never have deal with it.

2. They eliminate the e-mail from the second category that is obviously spam.

The remaining 5% of suspected spam is tagged as SPAM on the e-mail subject line and forwarded to you so that you can decide what to do with it. You can create rules in your e-mail client to delete this suspect mail or store it in a special folder.
